I’m thinking of starting yoga. Where do I start and what level of fitness do I need? Start at beginners level. You will get a methodical foundation in strength, flexibility and alignment. You don’t need a high level of fitness. With this style of yoga, the Iyengar style, the class is fitted to each student’s individual capacity. You will develop stamina and fitness over the 10 week course.
What fitness benefits can I expect to receive? Yoga works on your body and mind. You will gain toned, flexible muscles, upper body strength, abdominal strength, improved balance, relief from pain caused by poor posture and tight short muscles, deep relaxation, stress release and a balanced nervous system. Research shows that yoga will protect you from injury.
What do I wear to class?
Wear clothes that are easy to move in and in which you feel comfortable. Gym wear allows us to see your alignment more easily.
Is there a beginners class? Yes, we offer beginners classes on: Tuesday and Thursday evenings run for 10 weeks and start at the beginning of the term. Monday and Saturday mornings can be started at any time but also cannot be attended casually. We recommend that beginners start with at least 2 sessions a week. We offer a special where if you pay for 2 classes a week you can attend up to 4 times a week.
How long does class go for? Beginners classes go for 75 minutes.

Inner Strength Pilates cater for a range of clients from beginners to advanced with personalised pilate and barre programs that can help you overcome injuries, realign you body, improve overall strength, and become more flexible.

What are barre classes?
This workout produces dramatic results that sculpt and redefine the entire body. The main bulk of the class is spent at the barre. Hand weights will then be used to in conjunction with leg movement in order to increase the heart rate and stamina. Balance work is also included, as well as floor work to focus on the upper body and abdominal exercises.

All Barre Classes are suitable for all ages & abilities, as various adaptations are given throughout each class to suit the abilities of all students.
What to wear and bring?
You will need socks with sticky rubber on the bottom. These can be purchased from the studio. Sweat towels are provided. Wear comfortable fitness clothing that you can stretch in.
