The Spring Racing Carnival is well underway and there are a number of key race days to attend, presenting the perfect opportunity to go full glam. What I personally love about the races is that it’s the best excuse to go all out with a new outfit, shoes, accessories, millinery and having your hair and makeup done professionally!
Living in Somerton Park, I’m lucky enough to be walking distance to Jetty Road, Glenelg, and I recently headed there to plan a few outfits for the Spring Racing Carnival.
Starting with Attitudes Boutique, I found a gorgeous rust coloured slip dress. This style of dress ensures you are comfortable all day long, as well as looking effortlessly chic. Teamed with an on-trend hair clip like this one from Sportsgirl, I can see my first Spring Racing outfit coming together. I actually wore a hair clip just like this for my wedding, and that’s what I love about hairclips – they are so versatile yet subtly make a statement. Denim & Cloth finished this look off perfectly with snakeskin, strappy mules by Billini. The smaller block heel is perfect for walking on the grass and won’t cause too much pain!
I also found a stunning pink cape dress by Elliat, which would be perfect for Melbourne Cup Day. Melbourne Cup Day is the biggest day on the racing calendar and is all about pops of colour! Teamed with nude mules also by Billini from Denim & Cloth, but on the higher scale, this is becoming a very statement outfit. And what better way to make it more OTT then by adding a classic hat from Paisley Boutique!
I then headed to Carnegie Establishment, with this boutique presenting more-so relaxed fits. I personally love this Raga dress – a crisp, white linen piece – matched perfectly with on-trend pearl earrings. This would be a great option for Derby Day, sticking with the monochrome theme, and you could easily wear this to a non-race day event with some white kicks and a denim jacket, getting multiple wears out of it.
Paisley Boutique is the ultimate one-stop-shop for all of your Spring Racing needs. Here I was able to find a complete outfit – dress, fascinator and bag. Tick! The dress is by one of my favourite labels, Pas Duchess, and would be great for a garden wedding or day event. The fascinator is by Morgan and Taylor, one of the best brands in the biz.
